Yoann was on trial at Aberdeen this summer for a couple of weeks and impressed in the pre-season games. The defensive midfielder started his career at Saint-Étienne before he was brought to the UK by Gordon Strachan who was the then Southampton manager. Paul Sturrock then took him to Sheffield Wednesday and then to Plymouth. Folly represented France at youth level before making his senior debut for Togo in 2008. In January 2011, Yoann suffered a broken ankle in a match against Dundee United which ruled him out for the rest of the 2010/11 season. Whilst fighting for a return to fitness Yoann has been struck down with a chest problem which has left him unable to return to action.
