Aberdeen 1-1 Queen of the South | Second Half | Full Time | Scottish Cup 5th Round

Vernon 66'   |  McLaughlin 54'

The Dons and Queen of the South will have to replay in Dumfries after a 1-1 draw at Pittodrie this afternoon. The Dons fell behind in the 54th minute when Sam Parkin found Scott McGlaughlin who calmly fired under Jason Brown. The home side got themselves back in the match 12 minutes later when an Arnason long-throw caused havoc in the QotS box and Scott Vernon fired home to level things but the Dons couldn't find a winner and they must now make the long trek to Dumfries for a replay.

Despite the negatives headlines which will follow Aberdeen are still the cup and they did dominate much of this game, hitting the post and the bar in the second half. The concern again though was the lack of clear cut chances they created against a well organised and disciplined defence.

Another concern must be the hamstring injury to Chris Clark. He could be out for a while, joining Milson, Osbourne, Pawlett, Folly, Anderson and Rae on the sidelines. Clark Robertson also missed the game today through injury, as did new signing Daniel Uchechi.

Replay - at the moment scheduled - Tuesday 14 February 2012 Palmerston Park Dumfries 7.45pm. The draw for the Quarter Finals takes place at Hampden on Monday.
